Notice regarding the end of “medical care cost information” distribution
Up until now, the Health Insurance Society has distributed “medical care cost information” (postcard-style notification) that enables members to check the medical care costs you paid as well as the actual medical care costs, but we will no longer issue this after the final issuance in February 2027.
After the distribution of “medical care cost information” ends, please check or obtain medical-care-cost notification information, etc. using the two methods below.

- Check the actual medical care costs using your “medical care cost information” and receipts or detailed statements.
Medical care costs for sickness and injury treatment are uniformly determined at all hospitals in Japan, based on the standards established by the Japanese government as Medical Fees. However, using health insurance, the only amount you pay at a hospital is the copayment. This can make it hard to grasp the actual medical care costs incurred.
Please check your medical care costs.
- Mynaportal (a government-run website)
Mynaportal, which is provided by the Japanese government, enables users to obtain medical-care-cost notification information. (However, note that you cannot acquire information on the costs of medical care provided at osteopathic clinics or by judo therapists at such clinics.)- * Details on Mynaportal registration can be found here. - Health web portal: “Pep Up”
At “Pep Up,” a health management website run in collaboration with the Health Insurance Society, users can check their medical care cost information.- * To use this service, you must first register. Details on Pep Up registration can be found here.
- * Please confirm that the number of days of treatment, billed amount, and other details are the same as the information on the receipt obtained from the medical care institution.

In addition, medical care institutions will issue receipts showing medical care costs per item, including charges for the first consultation, checkup charges and treatment charges, as well as detailed statements showing more detailed “medical care information”. Try to check these against the medical care cost information you receive from the Health Insurance Society later.
